5. Teaching License/ Teacher Certification:
Pennsylvania
This program is based out of Pennsylvania so after completing the course you can take the Pennsylvania licensure exam to become a licensed teacher in Pennsylvania.
All Other States
Pennsylvania has reciprocity with 33 other states where after attaining your teaching certification through Pennsylvania you can become licensed in your home state. If your state is not one of the 33 states that have reciprocity you will need to check with your state’s Board of Education on requirements for Licensure.
6. Do I have to find and set up my own student teaching in my home state?
Yes, you will have to find a local school to complete your internship/practicum that will meet the requirements of the program; Drexel states that an adviser will guide you through this process.
Extras:
Drexel works on a quarter system, with breaks between each quarter. The bachelors of education program is unique in that the teaching program is a cohort-based program. This means that you will complete all your courses with the same group of students. This will help build trust and support during the program.
